Originally designed by the chess maestro of Lodhi Sports, with a legacy of almost 60 years in the chess industry, this set reflects our dedication to perfection in classical design and exceptional quality.
The popular Capablanca chess game is played on a 10 x 8 square chessboard with two additional chess pieces:
- Chancellor: Combines the power of the knight and rook.
- Archbishop: Combines the power of the bishop and knight.
- Amazon Queen: The most powerful piece, combining the powers of the queen and knight.
- Jester: Imitates the piece that made the last move.
- 10 pawns per side.
This unique variation of chess was introduced by the legendary José Raúl Capablanca.
The hallmark workmanship on the Knights features meticulous details, including finely carved eyes, nostrils, teeth, and mane, crafted to perfection. Other pieces, from King to Pawn, are equally proportionate. The Knight, a vital piece, is carved with unmatched precision by skilled craftsmen with decades of experience, creating mesmerizing designs.
- Kings feature stunningly carved traditional finials.
- Queens display finely crafted shanks with elegant coronets.
- Bishops are crafted with contrasting wood tops and finely carved vertical lines along the mitered edges for a unique, extraordinary look.

The craftsmanship on the Chancellor, Archbishop, Amazon Queen, and Jester pieces is proportionally crafted with extraordinary artistry. The Pawns, essential to the game, are designed with perfectly spherical tops and sharp, wide collars, exuding the same grace as other pieces.
Each chess piece is hand-carved from the highest-grade exotic woods, featuring luxurious billiard cloth base pads. The set is heavily weighted and polished by hand for a natural, long-lasting shine. It also includes two extra queens.
